Here is how it all started: my very first missive from the woman who we would come to affectionately call ‘Arv’s stalker’:
Hey Arvind
I hope you don’t mind me emailing you but I happened across you on the internet and I have to say I think you’re awesome. So recently I went to the dental surgery for the first time in a number of years so I was like, oh my god I bet my teeth are bad, and I was totally grossed out and upset to be told I’ve gotton what they call severe cavaties on my teeth due to too much sugar. This like really tore me up me as my teeth are starting to go yellow now from the sugar so I thought to myself the best thing to do would be to go surfing on the internet and get some information on sugar and it’s affect on teeth as they say information is power don’t they, and I thought I might be able to use that power to get my teeth back to white like they should be, and anyway when I was googling sugar stuff I happened across
www.sugarhouselane.com . Well I have to say I was real interested to read all about this film set in the east side of London, way out when you think about it as I’m plan on moving to London (I live in Dallas right now) in November. Anyway you know what I like sooo loved the look of east side london so I’ve decided that’s where I’m going to come and live when I move over as it looks real cute and English. Anyway it was so cool because I like then carried on a little internet trail and came to your blog website where I read all your writings and musings and I was like OH MY GOD this man is so clever and funny and like real witty I just read the whole thing. I think you’re a real english aristocrate being an owner of a real important company, and I’ve like always wanted to meet a real posh english person like you see in the movies with Hugh Grant. I then found you on your company website http://www.slingshot-studios.com/people.htm and I just can’t believe how much we have in common! You used to work for a company called Ruby, well blow me down my mama is called Ruby! You worked on Sylvia and oh my god I just love that film! It’s one of my favourites, I just love Gwenyth, she’s so cute. You used to worked in an animation company, well I just love animation! Us Americans just love cartoons and Disney and all that, and so must you if you worked in an animation company! Oh and most of all my favourite name is David, I’ve always loved that name since my mama sent me to Sunday school and I learned all about the people in the bible. David was the second king of Israel and I’ve like always real loved the name since I first read the stories in the bible about him and then I find you on the internet and think you’re awesome and your family name is David!
Anyway Arvind excuse me for making this so long, I’m just like way excited to be able to email you! So back to the point of the email, you must be real spun out by now and wondering what a gal from Dallas is doing emailing you when you’re all important and busy and all but Arvind I’m going to move to England in November like I said previous and I really won’t know many people to help me find a job. I got an uncle who lives in Ireland but that’s not real near so I thought it’d like rock my whole world if I could get a job with you what with thinking you’re amazing and all. I’m multi talented as I’m real good at typing letters if you need a personal assistant and I’m real polite and friendly and presentable if you need like a receptionist or something. I’ve also got experience of office cleaning as my auntie Cindy has got a cleaning company in Dallas and I used to work for her in my college holidays. I’m 27 years old and I’m a real quick learner and flexible. I got a British passport because my daddy (he’s passed now) was Scottish so I can work fine in england.
Anyway Arvind if you want to arrange a meeting I arrive in England on November 5th and am free after that for interview. Or if you happen to be in Dallas before (I guess you do lots of international meetings) I could meet you. I could even show you round some site seeing places herein Dallas.
I hope to hear from you and hope you can find me a job in your company Arvind.

Thanks so much for your speedy email response which I was so excited to have gotton. I am pleased you’re as keen as me.
Attached to this here email is my resume with a photo on it. You will see on my Mission Statement why I wish to work in the film industry, and most specifically with you. I hope this is sufficient as an essay? To be honest regards to what I am willing to do to achieve a job in your company I’m willing to start right at the bottom - as a tea lady if needs be. God willing I will make it to the top of your company one day and be an aristocrat like you, but I know you have to start at the bottom in life and that is fine as I think it is worth it.
