   Arvind Ethan David
Arvind Ethan David
CEO and Producer

Arvind Ethan David is co-founder, producer and managing director at Slingshot, leading both business and creative strategy.

Immediately prior to Slingshot's founding, Arvind served as Commercial Advisor to Headline Pictures, the production company set up by Mark Shivas, Stewart Mackinnon and Kevin Hood. From 2003 to 2004, he was Managing Director of Ruby Films, working with Oscar-nominated producer Alison Owen; prior to that, he founded and ran hahabonk, producing more than 100 short animated films for cable television and broadband internet, in the course helping to launch the careers of such comedians as Jimmy Carr, Mackenzie Crook and The Hollow Men.

In addition to his career as producer and entrepreneur, Arvind is also a qualified solicitor and an author and playwright: his play DIRK, based on the Douglas Adams novel, won three prizes in the 2007 LA Weekly Theatre Awards. Arvind holds an MA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and an MBA from London Business School, grew up between Kuala Lumpur and London, speaks Malay (badly) and Spanish (really badly) and likes to blog.

Managing Director, Distribution

Elizabeth is managing director of Slingshot Distribution, leading the company's acquisitions and distribution strategy.

Elizabeth has worked in distribution for the last 25 years, most recently as Head of Fox Searchlight UK. Prior to that, she was General Manager of Icon Film Distribution and Deputy MD at Pathe Film Distribution. She has worked across both marketing and acquisitions. Films include DELICATESSEN, MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO, BREAKING THE WAVES, SWINGERS, Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN, WHALE RIDER, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, 21 GRAMS, CONFETTI and THE HISTORY BOYS.

Chief Operating Officer & Producer

Cavan is chief operating officer and a producer at Slingshot, working across operational strategy and creative projects.

Cavan has over ten years of TV and film development experience working in LA and London at such companies as Imagine Entertainment, Fox Searchlight, TNT Original Movies, FremantleMedia and Tiger Aspect. He has a BA from Oxford University, an MFA in film producing from the University of Southern California and an MBA from London Business School.

   Jane Saunders

Marketing Manager

Jane Saunders is Marketing Manager at Slingshot, working on developing and implementing the marketing strategy on Slingshot's films.

Jane has over ten years of marketing experience, including positions at TartanVideo UK and as Communications Manager at the New Producers Alliance; she has also produced and worked on a number of short films. Before moving into film, Jane worked as a marketing consultant specializing in Environmental Media. She studied Mass Communications at University of Canberra Australia and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Education from Macquarie University Australia.
   Uzma Hasan

Development Producer

Uzma Hasan is Development Producer at Slingshot where she works across project selection, development and packaging.

Before joining Slingshot, Uzma was producing music promos and commercials. Whilst in New York, she supported the Executive Producer and Special Events team at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival and worked with Focus Features on the post production of Mira Nair's film VANITY FAIR.

Before moving into film, Uzma was a public relations consultant to international corporations such as NEC and Verizon and helped to launch mCubed Magazine in the US, an arts and cultural magazine aimed at young Muslim professionals.

In addition to her work at Slingshot, Uzma is on the selection committee for Mira Nair's Maisha Labs as well as the British Independent Film Awards.

She studied Film and Literature at Harvard University's Graduate School of Arts and Science, where she was awarded a scholarship by the Kennedy Memorial Trust.
   Naomi Sherry

Business Affairs

Naomi handles business and legal affairs for Slingshot, working across development, production and distribution as well as providing corporate support.

Prior to joining Slingshot, Naomi had a career in the City, where she worked for two major U.S. law firms in international corporate finance and securitization. She then went on to study filmmaking at the Metropolitan Film School and performance at Central School of Speech and Drama. Naomi holds a dual honours LLB (Hons) law degree combined with the study of French and German. She has lived and worked in both Paris and Brussels.

Producer's Assistant

Kate is Producer's Assistant at Slingshot, working across development, production and distribution.

She has worked in production and development at New York's Tribeca Productions, and has a BA in Media Studies from Pomona College in Claremont, CA.
   Claire Taylor
Claire Taylor
Consulting Head of Sales

Claire has worked in international sales since 1992 and has handled over seventy feature films, including THE PIANO, David Lynch's LOST HIGHWAY and VELVET GOLDMINE. Most recently she was Head of Sales for Renaissance Films, spear-heading the sales, financing and acquisitions for titles such as SHOOTING DOGS and THE MOTHER. She consults for Pathé Pictures and Picturehouse/HBO alongside her work with Slingshot.


   Luke Montagu

Non Executive Director

Luke is currently Director of the Metropolitan Film School, non-executive Director of post-production facility Met Film and TV, and is on the Skillset Film Communications Advisory Committee. He was the first film student at Columbia University to deliver a project digitally; his entrepreneurial skills led him to establish a successful e-Learning company, before combining his love for film and establishing the Metropolitan Film School.


   Thomas Høegh
Thomas Høegh
Non Executive Director

Thomas manages a group of companies involved in venture capital and entertainment under Arts Alliance which has backed more than 35 companies. He serves on the boards of the following film related businesses: AtomShockwave; Hart Sharp Entertainment’s True Film Fund; Hart Sharp Video; CityScreen Cinemas; Metropolitan Film School; LOVEFiLM and Arts Alliance Media. As an artist he has directed 20 productions in television, theatre and radio drama.

She has worked in production and development at New York's Tribeca Productions, and has a BA in Media Studies from Pomona College in Claremont, CA.
